Job Summary:

The Apprentice Service Technician at Sternberg Automotive Chrysler Center in Jasper, Indiana is a full-time, hourly position in the auto industry. As an individual contributor, the Apprentice Service Technician will assist experienced technicians in various duties related to vehicle maintenance and repair. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in pursuing a career in the automotive industry and gaining valuable hands-on experience.

Compensation & Benefits:

The compensation for this position is $39,000 to $50,000 per year, paid biweekly. In addition, the employee will receive benefits such as health insurance, vacation time, and opportunities for professional development and growth within the company.

Responsibilities:

- Assist experienced technicians in diagnosing and repairing vehicles
- Perform routine maintenance on vehicles such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks
- Keep work area clean and organized
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines
- Learn and use dealership and manufacturer software and equipment
- Attend training sessions and workshops to improve skills and knowledge
- Communicate effectively with team members and customers
- Follow all company policies and procedures

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a vocational or technical program in automotive technology preferred
- Some prior experience in a related field 
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Valid driver's license and a good driving record
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced technicians
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, such as tires and equipment
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of automotive software and systems
