Job Description
As a Workers' Compensation Attorney, you will be responsible for providing legal representation to individuals who have been injured or disabled in the workplace. You will handle all aspects of workers' compensation cases, including evaluating claims, gathering evidence, negotiating settlements, and representing clients in administrative hearings or court proceedings when necessary. Your primary goal will be to ensure that injured workers receive the compensation and benefits they are entitled to under state workers' compensation laws.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate workers' compensation claims to determine their validity and potential value.
  • Investigate workplace accidents and injuries by gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and reviewing medical records.
  • Advise clients on their rights and options under state workers' compensation laws.
  • Prepare and file legal documents, such as claims petitions, appeals, and settlement agreements.
  • Negotiate settlements with insurance companies and opposing counsel on behalf of clients.
  • Represent clients at hearings before administrative law judges or in court proceedings.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to clients throughout the claims process.
  • Stay current on changes and developments in workers' compensation law.
Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
  • Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload efficiently.
  • Attention to detail and ability to analyze complex legal issues.
