Heavy Equipment Mechanic Internship

Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Shop Manager and working cooperatively with an experienced shop mechanic on the jobsite and/or in a shop environment, this is a temporary position involving various duties that permit exposure to the student's field of study and/or provide experience that is a useful addition to the student's education and meaningful preparation for future professional employment.

The primary objective of the internship is to prepare the student for future positions within the mechanic industry. The student will have the opportunity to observe and participate in all aspects of troubleshooting and repairs to all types of heavy equipment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an associate's or bachelor's degree in Heavy Equipment Technology Engineering and/or Construction Management
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills
• Good organization skills
• Quick to adapt and able to thrive in a fast paced, high pressure environment
• Experience with MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook
• Self-motivated; ability to work independently
• Good written and verbal communication skills along with a positive attitude
