PRIMARY PURPOSE: To oversee the day-to-day financials of a multiple location company. Controller reports to VP of Operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform financial statement analysis, review, and compare P&Ls to budgets.

Responsible for oversight of financial statements.

Interface with senior management to review performance, explain and control variances and assist in achievement and tracking of objectives.

Apply the financial policies and procedures of the company. Bring inconsistencies and problems to the attention of management.

Assist corporate team and property-level management in preparation of all key budget schedules across an array of hotels; analyze budget data and assist in preparation of required budget schedules.

Identify business issues that may have accounting and tax implications and effectively communicate to ownership.

Complete month-end close, to include payment of sales, use, and property taxes.

Monitor cash flow of all properties.

Establish property level policies for EOM Accruals.

Monitor property level Accounts Receivable Balance.

Assist with special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors degree in Finance/Accounting

Twelve (12) years accounting experience involving financial statement preparation and general ledger/accounting

Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting operations

Proficient in Microsoft Excel

High degree of initiative and organization

Proven management and interpersonal skills

Possess excellent communication and analytical skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

JOB SETTING AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
To perform the job successfully the candidate must be able to use a computer and other standard office equipment. Fluency in the English language and the ability to speak, hear, read, and write are required as is the ability to work any hours/days of the week and weekends necessary to meet business requirements.
