Excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Technician to join our team in Athens, TX!


What you will do:

The Maintenance Technician will perform diversified duties in several trades: electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, plumbing and building trade. Troubleshoot and repair machines, processes, and system as they relate to the overall maintenance function of the manufacturing facility.

  • Maintains electrical and mechanical systems as they relate to manufacturing
  • Handles emergency maintenance jobs
  • Maintains inventories and orders material as needed
  • Installs equipment and processes as they relate to the manufacturing of medical devices using sketches, drawings and prints
  • Troubleshoots and repairs electrical controls and components on production equipment and systems
  • Completes in-house calibration and records data as it related to GMP, ISO & FDA regulations
  • Designs control systems and builds control panels for specialty equipment used in the manufacturing process
  • Performs major repairs to the building, systems & equipment; including plumbing, electrical & mechanical
  • Repairs and troubleshoots air conditioning equipment and boiler systems
  • Performs diversified duties using sketches and prints to renovate and construct new buildings and systems; e.g. painting, drywall, carpentry, sheet metal, etc.
  • Maintains buildings and grounds
  • Maintains section compliance with GMP, ISO, FDA, OSHA, EPA, DEP and other regulatory agencies
  • Maintains logs and records to meet all compliances of these agencies
  • Assists with industrial hygiene studies as they relate to employee safety, i.e. hearing conservation, ventilation studies etc.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or required


Skills for Success:

  • Ability to read and understand diagrams, blueprints, equipment manuals, metals, chemicals, and other materials used in the maintenance function.
  • Profiencient in the use of a variety of hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery.


Preferred Education and experience

  • 3+ years of work experience preferably in manufacturing
  • Completion of approved formal apprenticeship program in this specialized field OR the equivalent in work experience and on the job training.
  • Experience in PLC (programmable logic controller) programming and technical electrical systems.
  • Experience using HMI (Human-Machine Interface)

Physical demands

  • Work at heights greater than ten feet (Example, working in a manlift or on a ladder) Perform heavy manual labor requiring manual dexterity. Move heavy objects (50 lbs. or more) long distances (more than 20 ft.).
