Job Overview:
A Certified Pharmacy Tech is a critical position in processing customer prescriptions and managing pharmacy inventory. This job requires friendly, caring and accurate service. General job functions include using the pharmacy management system to enter customer, inventory and prescription information, providing general answers and direction for products and services that the pharmacy offers and making sure the pharmacy is neat and orderly.

Specific for Pharmacy Techs:
- Take customer and prescription information and update the pharmacy management system accurately and completely.
- Follow-up on and restock customer prescriptions that have not been picked up.
- Process and fill prescriptions including special request, bubble pack and compliance packaging.
- Complete ‘owed’ and special orders in a timely manner.
- Process controlled substance prescriptions.
- Call or email customers to follow-up on refills that are due and process all SYNC requests.
- Keep pharmacy store shelves neat and clean and drug stock managed for expiration dates.
- Order, receive and re-price stock prescription shelves including controlled and C-II substances, maintain accurate inventory and tracking of C-II substances
- Process expired stock, if designated.
- Complete pharmacy inventory, if designated.
- Complete third party rejections, if designated.
- Troubleshoot, evaluate and repair all components of pharmacy technology if requested.
- Support and encourage all pharmacy programs (example: MTM, immunizations, SyncRx, WPQC, public outreach and health education programs)
- Complete required training within the requested timeframe.
- Complete other requests by pharmacy or general manager, as required.
Education, Experience, Skills:
- High School Diploma (required)
- One year tech experience in a pharmacy (required)
- Current Pharmacy Technician Certificate from State of Wisconsin
- Has the ability to complete all assigned tasks in a timely and accurate manner
- Can pass preliminary skills test
- Ability to work with a computer
- Be able to learn and adapt quickly to a dynamic work environment
- Be able to perform basic mathematical calculations in an accurate manner
- Be detail oriented and inclined to make few mistakes, good memory
Communication Requirements:
- Be able to read, write and speak English well
- Be able to communicate well with customers, employees, vendors and superiors.
- Be able to operate as a team player
Physical Requirements:
- Be in good general health
- Have a good (corrected) vision in order to read labels on bottles and use computer
- Be able to stand and work steadily for long periods of time
- A full range of bodily motion including walk, standing, lifting, reaching, carrying bulky items, stooping, kneeling, bending at the waist, handling items, fingering items, lifting bulky objects above the waist, and grasping items on a daily basis
