PRIMARY PURPOSE: 

A Mason is one who demonstrates skills in laying block, brick, stone, or glass block that meet Buckner & Sons Masonry standards of quality workmanship.

ROUTINE DUTIES: 

• Follows instructions and accepts job assigned by the foreman.
• Follows OSHA and Buckner & Sons Masonry safety rules and regulations.
• Attends “Safety Tool Box Talk” meetings.
• Provides own tools required to perform daily tasks.
• Reads blueprints with accuracy and seeks help when required to use special laying techniques with which one is unfamiliar.
• Reports to the jobsite on time. Checks in with the foreman upon arrival and when leaving the jobsite.
• Responsible for your own work area and instructing tenders of materials needed to prevent running out or "down time”. Concentrates on productivity.
• Helps tenders adjust scaffold walk boards when necessary.
• Contacts the Field Manager the night before when not sure of one's assignment.
• Informs the foreman when taking prescribed medication that may impair vision, balance or cause drowsiness.
• Adheres to the policies outlined in the Buckner & Sons Handbook and substance Free Workplace Manual
