Who We Are:

DHT Group, based out of Reese, Michigan has been ensuring safety and satisfaction for over 35 years. DHT is hiring at all facilities with Michigan locations in Newport, Sault Ste. Marie, Port Huron and also Bellefontaine, Ohio. DHT has several divisions including Tanker, Gravel Train, Flatbed, Van, Excavating, and Landscape Supply. DHT also operates full-service repair facilities.


We are seeking qualified individuals to work within our service facilities. All positions are available, including diesel technicians, diesel mechanics, general building maintenance, and parts associates. All shifts are available at our main site in Reese, Michigan.


Candidates with qualifications to work within a service facility are encouraged to apply. Preference given to candidates with 1-3 years of experience, but we are willing to train qualified individuals.

Diesel Technician duties:


• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic issues. Ability to test and make adjustments.

• Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment, and facilities.

• Identifies mechanical problems visually and/or with computer or shop provided diagnostic equipment.

• Perform diagnostics on specific components and systems to determine proper operation.


We are actively seeking individuals with verifiable experience in:

  • Suspension
  • Drivetrain
  • Engine
  • Air Systems
  • Hydraulic Systems
  • DEF Systems
  • Welding and fab (R-stamp work will be available soon)

Diesel technicians are expected to work with little or no supervision and act as mentors for entry level mechanics and technicians. DHT will assist you in enhancing your skill set through on-line training sessions.


Diesel Mechanic duties:

  • Perform diagnosed repairs
  • Replace parts and components
  • Perform preventative maintenance

Diesel mechanics will work with direct supervision from experienced/senior personnel. DHT will require you to enhance your skill set through on-line and on the job training.


General building maintenance duties:

  • Taking trash out
  • Day to day cleaning
  • Facility repairs
  • Coordination with outside vendors when needed
  • Create daily routines
  • Duties as assigned by supervisor

Verifiable experience in building maintenance or similar background is required for this position



Parts associate duties:


• Take inventory of stock and replenish, or purge, when needed according to the parts usage reports

• Assist in keeping the Parts Department clean and orderly

• Provide Mechanics with parts as requested – will require delivery of requested parts to all DHT locations

• Maintain positive relationships with outside vendors, customers, and co-workers


Preference given to candidates able to work second shift.

Requirements:

Physical Requirements:

  • Driver's license required. CDLA preferred
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 35 pounds
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspection
  • Must have enough vision to inspect repair work
  • Must be able to use/operate hand tools, power tools, and other heavy machinery
  • Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screen
