If we have piqued your interest, this is what the role looks like: 

As the OSP Technician – Field Services I, you will assist with Outside Construction and Maintenance for GTA. In this role, you perform general labor construction duties and are exposed to all the outside elements daily (hot temperatures or rain). Some of these duties include heavy lifting of equipment and materials, trenching, laying conduit for fiber, cleaning job sites, or other general labor tasks as assigned.  

  • Perform demanding physical tasks to include heavy lifting of materials and equipment, trenching, assisting with laying conduit for fiber 
  • Work under adverse conditions (extreme heat, rain) and confined spaces 
  • Using hand and power tools such as shovel, hammer, or pressure washer, etc. 
  • Applies safe work practices on the job 
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions 
  • Skill in the safe operation of motor vehicles 
  • Performs related duties as assigned 

 

Candidates must show: 

  • Ability to promote the GTA culture and mission to all employees, vendors, and customers 
  • Strong sense of accountability; be self-motivated, positive, and professional in approach and able to work in a team environment as well as independently. 
  • Attendance/Punctuality – is consistently at work and on time for scheduled shift and department or customer scheduled meetings. Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent. 
  • Decision-making – makes sound, well informed, fact-based decisions and seeks guidance when needed. 

 

Here’s what we need you to have: 

  • High School Diploma or GED 
  • Must have basic reading, math, and computer skills 
  • Must have and maintain a current valid Guam Driver’s License
  • Ability to follow all safety requirements 
  • Ability to understand, read, write and follow oral and written instructions 
  • Regular, punctual and consistent attendance; must be able to work any shift and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary to meet the needs and goals of the business. 
  • Must be able to identify and distinguish colors 
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces 
  • Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions (extreme heat outsides, rain, cold) for a minimum of eight (8) hours or more per day 
  • Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds 
  • Must be able to stand, walk on uneven surfaces, climb, stoop up to minimum eight (8) or more hours a day or up to ten (10) hours a day based on shift of 4x10
