HVAC/R Technician

RoofingSource, a nationwide company, is continuing to expand after 19 years in the business and looking for an HVAC/R technician to service our busy OH market. Our ideal candidate is a highly skilled professional that has several years of experience in HVAC/R repairs, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and full-service commercial refrigeration equipment. The HVAC/R tech will have the opportunity to excel in their career with a great company.

Job Responsibilities:

• Performing cleanings, service repairs, diagnostics, maintenance, and troubleshooting existing HVAC/R restaurant equipment (Walk-in coolers/freezers, ice machines)

• Follow preventive maintenance procedures for HVAC/R systems

• Identifying opportunities to increase energy efficiency, through improved insulation or more efficient HVAC equipment, for current and future clients.

• Installing and repairing ductwork, including insulation and sealing seams

• Inspecting HVAC systems and components for problems or defects

• Ensuring quality craftsmanship and articulate communication with clients

• Completing all reporting documents via tablet and/or smartphone

• Operating hand tools, power tools, cleaning equipment, and other electrical equipment

• Performing work in accordance with the scope of work job specifications, warranty specifications, safety guidelines, and quality standards

• Making recommendations to RoofingSource’s management for constant improvement of internal processes

Job Requirements:

• Possess a valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record

• Commercial HVAC/R experience is required.

• Refrigeration experience is preferred but the right candidate can be trained.

• Must be EPA Certified

• Proficient verbal and written communication skills

• Working effectively with technology (i.e., smartphone and/or tablets)

• Heavy lifting (50+ lbs), twisting, bending, use of both hands and arms, kneeling, squatting, standing and/or walking for long periods, and climbing ladders

• Working in intense weather (heat and sub-zero), tolerate moderate levels of noise and encounter wildlife

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

• This is a full-time position where overtime and being on-call are required.

A commercial HVAC/R technician's industry competitive wage varies depending on a candidate's region and professional experience with the opportunity for short-term increases based on performance-related benchmarks.
