Qualifications:
- 3-5 years' experience in the medical/healthcare field (i.e. hub services, pharmacy, doctor's office, hospital administration, etc.), preferred.
- 3-5 years’ pharmacy experience, preferred (retail or specialty pharmacy experience, preferred).
- Pharmacy Technician Certification, preferred.
- Familiarity with prescription processes, insurance issues, insurance verification and/or authorizations, preferred.
- Orthopedic, pain management, or physical therapy related experience, a plus.
- Experience interacting with doctors offices, insurance plans and/or pharmacies, preferred.
- Ability to maintain strict HIPAA patient confidentiality and protecting PHI.
- Strong computer skills. Adaptable and eager to learn. Open to cross-training to build on experience.

PHARMACY PROGRAM SPECIALIST
Essential Functions:
- Handles drug specific prescription processing and investigates drug specific benefits, in relation to manufacturer contracts and programs.
- Assists the physicians in evaluating initial referrals and serves as primary contact for receiving phone calls.
- Determines billing channels, verifies patient's benefits, and provides access to PAP (patient assistance programs) or PDP (patient direct programs), to assist the uninsured or under-insured.
- Documents and makes notations in each patient’s profile regarding every update and aspect of a customer’s/physician’s care or needs.
- Handles customer complaints received, while documenting and forwarding to appropriate administrative staff.
- Communicates with leaders and other program staff regarding any information received from the physician, insurance company or employees about the customer’s care or needs.
- Supports more than one program or team if needed, potentially cross-trained, where applicable.
Hours:
Monday-Friday, commonly needed shifts are 9:30 AM-6:00 PM, 10:30 AM-7:00 PM and 11:30 AM-8:00 PM. Other shifts may be available between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, for full-time hours, based on team needs.
Compensation:
Offer based upon experience, education, and interview process. Benefits are eligible, when meeting certain requirements.
