BioMed is a privately held company with a workforce of approximately 65 people operating in two locations. We are looking for a talented Nurse Supervisor to be part of our team that will collectively work to accomplish both current and future patient and company objectives.

 

Job Description

As the Nurse Supervisor, you will play a key role in leading the nursing services and culture of the department. You will be responsible for guiding and developing your team and providing exceptional nursing care in a person-centered environment.

  • Supervise staff of 4-5 nurses; bring excellent assessment, team building, organization, planning and interpersonal skills to the team.
  • Coordinate with other departments to insure maximum care to our patients.
  • Assess Patient health and dispense accurate medication dosage.
  • Responsible for ordering methadone and supplies for the department.
  • Maintain accurate medication records to comply with DEA regulations.
  • Enter verbal orders in electronic record.
  • Log any medication discrepancies accurately.
  • Update records regarding patient prescriptions and OTC medications usage.
  • Provide nursing assessments on new intakes.
  • Administer TB skin tests annually.
  • Perform monthly nursing assessments.
  • Calibrate medication pumps as required.
  • Review patient charts for current monthly activity and document accordingly.
  • Insure nursing station is properly maintained.

Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a charge nurse or other nursing leadership positions preferred.
  • Previous experience in substance abuse and methadone preferred.
  • Patient care must be highest priority.
  • Current State of Michigan Active License required and thorough understanding of state and federal regulations governing nursing facilities and how to apply them in planning, problem solving and directing your team.
  • Work Hours: 4:45 am - 1:15 pm (M-F); 6:45 am - 9:15 am (Sat - work every other weekend).
  • Key competencies include: analytical, health assessment skills, problem solving, diligence, good planning skills, excellent communication skills, collaborative work style (team player a must).
  • Punctuality/Reliability.
  • High level attention to detail.
  • Confidence with "can do" attitude.
  • Customer focused.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
