What does an Automotive Technician do?

• Diagnose vehicles using tools and technology.
• Repair vehicles, complete upgrades, maintain performance and keep people on the road.
• Work with customers to understand the maintenance needed to keep their vehicle performing.
• Replace and order parts to complete customer repair.

I have never worked on cars... how do I know if this is the right field for me???

Technicians use cutting edge technology to diagnose and repair engines, electronics, and other mechanical elements of the vehicle. AAG's mentored apprenticeship allows folks to get hands on in the industry through on the job learning, paired with conceptual learning that teaches the important theory behind automotive repair. Automotive Apprenticeships are 2 years and allow you to earn a certification as an Automotive Technician issued by the U.S. Department of Labor. Apprentices will work full time on the job with a dealership in their community and get paid while doing on the job training. AAG will facilitate the education needed (at no cost!) to make you a successful and proficient automotive technician.
