Excelsior Village Academies, Inc. is seeking a dynamic and experienced Founding K-3 Science Teacher to join our team. As a founding teacher, you will have the exciting opportunity to shape our science curriculum and engage students in hands-on learning experiences. You will collaborate with other educators to develop engaging lessons, implement science instruction, and promote a love for science among our young learners.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive science curriculum for students in grades K-3 that aligns with state standards and best practices.
  • Design and deliver engaging, hands-on lessons that foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific inquiry skills.
  • Create a safe and inclusive learning environment where students feel inspired to explore and discover the world of science.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to students and families.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate science instruction into other subject areas.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on the latest research and best practices in science education.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
  • Valid teaching certification
  • Prior experience teaching science to elementary students
  • Strong knowledge of elementary science curriculum and instructional strategies
  • Passion for science education and a desire to inspire young learners
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of a startup environment
