Software Engineer - Remote

Tecture is seeking a disciplined, self-directed software engineer with a drive to solve problems and complete projects. The ideal candidate will be experienced in Microsoft web and database technologies as well as having a range of experiences such as ASP.NET MVC, C#, SQL Server, stored procedures, payment gateways, and APIs.

Your primary responsibility is to help our clients (ranging from financial services companies to nonprofit organizations) keep their mission-critical systems online and functioning smoothly. This involves development of new features and functionality, debugging production issues, and working collaboratively with other team members in a fast-paced environment.

You will also have the opportunity to design and develop new software solutions from the ground up. Recent new projects included an event ticketing system serving music venues, a document-sharing customer portal, aan electronic funds transfer system for a consortium of  libraries, and a customer support ticketing system.

Education and experience are less important than your ability to write elegant code, definitively debug complex issues, and invent unique solutions. Your work will directly impact our efforts with a rapidly growing client list and the long-term success of our company as well as the success of our clients! 

Required Skills

• Experience developing and maintaining Microsoft applications
• ASP.NET MVC, C#
• SQL Server, SQL and relational database design experience
• Strong coding, debugging, and problem-solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Highly motivated individual with passion for learning new technologies
• * BS or equivalent degree in computer science

Desired Skills

• Design and development of REST-based APIs
• SQL stored procedures
• Knowledge of object-oriented development and design patterns
• Understanding of networking concepts, such as firewalls
• Experience maintaining a Windows Server production environment (Windows Server, IIS, SQL Server)

We cultivate a casual, fun, collaborative environment. Most of Tecture's team is located in the Chicagoland area. On rare occasions, travel may be required to meet with a client or for semi-annual team meetings. You do not need to reside in the central timezone, however, you will be expected to work with the team in CST hours.
