Job Summary

Oversees Home-Based services in accordance to Head Start Performance Standards and the Head Start Act while working with families and children.

Uses Reflective Supervision and observation to support and coach Home Visitors.

Supports PFCE and Education Manager with planning and implementation of the program.

Responsible for assuring regulatory and legal compliance with federal, state and local regulations; communicating with parents and community representatives, supervision, monitoring and training of all Early Head Start Home Visitors and Assistants.

Monitoring Compliance in all aspects of Head Start Performance Standards, State of Michigan Standards of Quality and Child Care Licensing Regulations.

This position includes coordination of the Maternal Infant Early Childhood Home Visitation (MIECHV) program and ensure that data collection and reporting are completed accurately and in timely manner by direct staff.

Supervises the Early Head Start Home Visitors and Assistants

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Social Services (social work, counseling, human services, psychology or related field), accompanied by Infant and Toddler or Home-based CDA or equivalent.


Experience:

Previous experience working as a home visitor with parents, infants and toddlers in a social service setting required, preferably an Early Head Start program;

Supervisory experience in the area of Early Childhood is required

Experience or knowledge of Maternal Infant Early Childhood Home Visitation (MIECHV) preferred

Demonstrated knowledge and experience implementing reflective supervision preferred


Position Duties/Responsibilities

Works with ERSEA, PFCE Managers, and Home Visitors to ensure full enrollment.

Works closely with the ERSEA Manager to assign families according to their eligibility to Home Visitors.

Keeps current on professional licenses and certifications as needed.

Assists Program Managers and meets periodically with Managers in implementing their practices and requirements to meet Head Start Performance Standards and guidelines for staff of Home Visitors.

Provides weekly supervision and support to Home Visitors in Early Childhood Development, Family Support, Prenatal Services, Nutrition and Parenting in according to HS Performance Standards.

Provides monthly reflective supervision to Home Visitors.

Participates in the orientation and training of the new staff.

Develops, maintains, and facilitates a positive community presence by promoting volunteerism and educational awareness pertaining to program needs.

Observes, evaluates, and provides feedback on home visitors' skills through attending home visits.

Ensures effective implementing of home visiting curriculum.

Ensures that all Home Visitors have appropriate training and technical assistance.

Works to support individual Home Visitors to develop training plans for professional development.

Ensure Home Visitors build respectful, culturally responsive, trusting relationships with families.

Promotes child progress across Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework, including children with disabilities and children who are dual language learners, as appropriate.

Acts as liaison and advocate between community resources and Head Start families.

Monitors and ensures all home visitors maintain accurate documentation of home visits, child progress, parent contact, parent goals, lessons plans, and data entry into Child Plus.

Ensures Home Visitors are connecting families to community resources where appropriate.

Oversees planning of group socializations to support Home Visitors in implementing activities with relevant topics that will support the child and family goals.

Uses program data to assist in making continuous improvements to the home based program.

Willingness to work primarily in the homes of families residing in high-risk communities.

Other duties as assigned.
