Position Description: Overview:
Under general supervision, but in line with established policies and procedures, this employee provides a variety of service functions, including, but not limited to, processing savings account, checking account and loan transactions, cashing checks, and selling money orders and travelers checks. This employee may answer phones, process mail received, maintain account records, and cross-sell services. The employee is responsible for balancing each days transactions and verifying cash totals at the end of the day. Responsibilities and Results:
\tRecords and processes transactions with accuracy and speed.
\tVerifies cash drawer, maintains and safeguards own cash balances within security guidelines.
\tProvides a variety of customer service functions, such as processing savings, checking accounts and loan transactions; opening new accounts, etc.
\tAnswers phones and responds to customer questions, takes messages.
\tPossesses the ability to cash checks or process withdrawals within authority limits, and to ensure that the customer has the right to the funds.
\tPerforms related clerical tasks in an accurate and timely manner.
\tRotates among lobby teller windows, drive-up, and ATM duties.
\tComplies with Government regulations and BSA.
\tAssists with any other duties as directed or required by Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
\tHigh school diploma or GED required.
Work Experience:
\t1+ years of experience in banking preferred.
\tPrevious cash handling experience required.
Skills and Knowledge:
\tBanking, and Sales oriented, good interpersonal and excellent communication skills and a strong desire to succeed
\tTime management and organizational skills
\tAbility to perform under pressure and adapt to changing and possibly stressful environment
\tSelf-Motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while remaining a team player
Other Job Responsibilities:
\tMust be able to keep all sensitive information confidential.
\tAbility to perform under pressure and adapt to changing environment
\tJob includes talking, hearing and repetitive motions
\tAbility to express and exchange ideas with customers by means of the spoken word, either in person or on the phone
\tAbility to received detailed information through oral communication
\tVisual ability to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing a computer screen and reading procedures.
\tSpeed and accurate use of computer, calculator and other business machines is required.
\tWillingness to assume new responsibilities, ability to perform under pressure and adapt to changing and possibly stressful environment is expected.
\tThe ability to identify, assist with and resolve routine problems is expected.
\tWorking hours may vary.
\tMay be required to work in other branch locations as needed.
\tPositively contributes to the success of others by assistant fellow team members.
\tOn time attendance is expected.
