Schedule:

Standard operating hours are 8:00 am – 4:30 pm; Part-Time OR Full-Time. Please note work hours may fluctuate depending on the Participant and business needs, flexibility is required.

Job Summary:

At Mountain View Pace, our Occupational Therapists are responsible for planning and delivering care for assigned treatment programs. This role participates in the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team within a post-acute rehabilitation environment and all group programs provided by the rehabilitation services department.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Conducts initial and ongoing assessments and evaluations as required by Policy and Procedure and as recommended by IDT.
  • Perform a review of medical history and complete a comprehensive occupational therapy assessment to develop a plan of care, establish goals, and provide treatment programs.
  • Recommend appropriate adaptive equipment and durable medical equipment to maximize safety and independence with activities of daily living.
  • Records and signs all treatments in Participant medical records.
  • Provides training to family members, caregivers, and staff members.
  • Plans and develops programs for restorative and wellness programs.
  • Supervise occupational therapist assistants.
  • Actively functions and participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Provides visits and/or treatment in various settings, including day centers, Participants’ homes, skilled nursing facilities, or hospitals.
  • Communicates Participant changes to team members as appropriate.
  • Participates in the coordination of 24-hour care delivery.
  • Must develop and maintain a strong working relationship with facility administration and staff, contract providers, other healthcare professionals, participants, caregivers, and families.
  • Participate in Quality Initiative training as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Must be able to deal tactfully and patiently with other staff, participants, family/caregivers, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public.
  • Be able to cope with change and respond well.
  • Need to have exceptional time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must have the cognitive ability to process and perform tasks for Participant safety.
  • Reliable transportation and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to prioritize work and follow through on assigned tasks.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Must hold a current OT license within the state you are practicing in.
  • One year of experience working with the frail and elderly population or willing to participate in extensive training as needed.
  • Demonstrate clinical competency with the geriatric population.

Requirements:

  • Requires valid State driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Successful completion of background check, physical, drug screening, TB Screening

Physical Requirements:

  • Sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours.
  • Is subject to lifting, carrying, and supporting participants and equipment.
