Job Summary

The irrigation technician will be responsible for overseeing irrigation repair operations at residential, commercial and institutional sites including start-up, maintenance checks, maintenance repairs, winterizations and system modifications. 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Ensure irrigation systems at maintenance sites are started, tested and adjusted for spring. 
  • Complete repairs and troubleshoot systems throughout the year.
  • Manage small system installation and modifications when needed. 
  • Monitor irrigation systems and watering times, working with account managers to meet client water budget and maintain the health of the landscape. 
  • Ensures appropriate tools and equipment for irrigation projects are in inventory and prepares purchase orders for non-stocked items. 
  • Coordinate repairs with service manager based on needs of customer and contracts. 
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the branch manager. 

Qualifications

  • 2-3 Years of related work experience is required (or ability to undergo training).
  • Knowledge of irrigation and irrigation systems (required).
  • Backflow tester certification is desired.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with coworkers and customers and present information, respond to questions both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to organize, multi-task, plan and set priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work independently when needed. 
  • Ability to exercise good judgement with strong attention to detail. 
  • Ability to help with production, scheduling, and routing. 
  • Driver's license with acceptable record (must be insurable by the company's carrier).
