Registered Behavior Technician

WellStone is North Alabama's most comprehensive behavioral healthcare provider serving over 13,000 persons annually throughout Northern Alabama, with offices in Huntsville and Cullman. As a pediatric Registered Behavior Technician, you will join our “Dreamteam” family in carrying out our values everyday through the way we treat each other and our clients. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with clinicians and families to provide trauma-informed care in applied behavior analysis. Each member of our team receives 1:1 coaching and supervision to support growth as a clinician and employee. We take our achievements almost as seriously as teaching through play. This position is full-time, 1st shift.

Responsible for conducting 1:1 ABA sessions, following the programs and guidelines presented by the program coordinator and the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) supervisor. Duties include per opportunity response-based data collection on skill acquisition, behavior reduction, Inter-Observer Agreement (IOA), and generalization. Must adhere to BACB Guidelines and Requirements for maintaining Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification in good standing.

What we're looking for (Education and Experience):

• High School Diploma
• Excellent 5-year Driving Record (must have valid driver’s license)
• Clean/Clear Background

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Special Education, or related field
• Undergraduate coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
• Minimum of 6 months experience working with children (preferred)

Required Training to obtain RBT:

• CPR
• Ability to pass background checks
• 40 hours of Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Training
• Ability to be credentialed with various Insurance Funders
• Specialized training in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
• Completion of RBT training provided on-site, and receive a passing score on the competency exam and evaluation
• Upon passing the examination, submit paperwork for the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) to obtain certification as an RBT

What you'll be doing:

• Session setup (conduct 10 minutes prior to patient's session) and clean up after session
• Pre-Session:
  • Clinic data sheets: Primary data collector, parent, and IOA data collector
  • Home data sheet
1. Print out data sheets
2. Environmental arrangement (e.g. furniture setup, toys/materials)
3. Motivational system: reinforcers, token board, etc.
4. Video camera set up (if applicable)
• Post-Session:
1. Edit data sheet as necessary
2. Graph data (paper, pencil, ruler)
3. Collect Interobserver Agreement (IOA)
4. Make materials as necessary
5. Formulate a list of questions/concerns to be discussed at your scheduled supervision meeting
6. Complete session notes
• Other duties as assigned
• Full-time,1st shift

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to be on feet up to 80% of shift
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to perform the essential job functions of the position.
