Dockhands

South Bay Marina is looking to build their seasonal team of dockhands. Our dockhands are responsible for providing exceptional customer service for our boaters and patrons. We pride ourselves on creating a great atmosphere and experience for those we encounters and do so by prioritizing service, maintenance, and safety.

This role is perfect for those who are looking for work in between the months of May and September. Dockhands at SBM get the best of both world by gaining valuable professional experience and spending their working days by the water! Pay for this position is starting at $14 an hour!  Schedules will vary but availability for weekdays, nights, weekends, and holidays is needed. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned) 

•  Carries out routine cleaning duties that meet established quality standards for all marina-related operations; ensures the recognized standards are maintained and that quality and delivery commitments are met.  
• Assists the Harbor Master and other Dockhands in marina-related duties such as securing boats to docks, connecting and monitoring utility services (power, water, and telephone), black water pump out, waste disposal, and facility sanitation.  
• Provide docking services for all customers. Learn proper VHF radio procedures. 
• Provides the highest level of customer and guest services, expedites all requests from vessels including transport of patrons and baggage to and from dockside, delivery of provisions and packages.  
• Routinely operates motor and water vehicles and other various mechanized equipment.  
• Provides general security and supports marina and facility security teams in their security-related efforts; reports disturbances in dock area to superiors and maintains general vigilance.  
• Manage fuel docking services for all customers 
• Provides service to marina and facility guests and carries out routine marina maintenance.  
• Complying with instructions or duties as may be reasonably assigned.
• Responsible for managing marina grounds to ensure proper upkeep of all facilities including the pool.
