Ravines EdgeThe Compliance Eligibility Partner is responsible for ensuring that households meet the income eligibility requirements for affordable housing units. The position helps assure that the housing community, community ownership and organization meet regulatory requirements. This position requires a thorough understanding of affordable housing programs, strong organizational skills, and excellent communication abilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Review applicant files to determine income eligibility for affordable housing units, ensuring all qualification components are met before move-in.
  • Review tenant recertifications, including annual recertifications, interim recertification, terminations, initial certification, and household composition changes to ensure compliance with program requirements.
  • Collaborate with on-site staff to track recertification due dates and ensure timely completion of all certifications.
  • Assist in processing HUD vouchers in accordance with TRACS and HUD Compliance guidelines.
  • Review EIV reports and resolve EIV discrepancies as needed.
  • Assist in preparing for agency audits by gathering requested information and uploading required documentation.
  • Stay abreast of regulations and policies related to housing compliance and standards of practice by reviewing industry communication and attending training/workshops for updates.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed or assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
  • Industry certifications such as COS, HCCP, CPM, HUD, or State Agency Certification: Preferred

Experience

  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in affordable multi-family property management: Preferred
  • Experience in property management with tax credit, Project based Section 8, HOME, Bond programs, and multi-state operations: Preferred

Computer Skills

  • Must be able to proficiently operate a computer, MS Office and other relevant software, the Internet and basic office equipment; Must have proficient typing and data entry skills

Other Requirements

  • Must have demonstrated skill in grammar, basic business composition, and standard office practices;
  • Must have the ability to work with numbers and understand basic accounting procedures;
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of tax credit and HUD compliance, including knowledge and understanding of the HUD 4350.3
  • Must be able to follow both written and oral instructions;
  • Must be organized with ability for attention to details;
  • Must be able to meet strict deadlines; Must be customer-focused and a team player;
  • Must have the ability to multitask and handle several projects at the same time;
  • Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality at all times regarding resident and staff relations, research/project development and other sensitive information;
  • Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills with staff, as well as internal and external customers;
  • Must be able to adhere to all terms and conditions set forth in the United Church Homes Employee Handbook
