Columbus Colony for Elderly CareThe Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for preparing schedules and maintaining appropriate staffing levels in the nursing department on a 24-hour basis according to state and administrative requirements.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
* Replaces call-offs as necessary
* Maintains staffing levels at state required minimum
* Prepares monthly schedules and daily sign-in sheets for nurses and nursing assistants
* Takes call-ins while on duty and finds replacement for staff shortages
* Updates the master schedule with changes on a daily basis, Completes Daily State Staffing Log
* Records all Leaves of Absence, special requests, vacation and holiday requests, and requests for schedule changes, as requested
* Obtains appropriate approval for time-off requests, shift trades, and PTO requests
* Maintains and keeps confidential a list of employee telephone numbers
* Maintains confidentiality of necessary information
* Handles unusual occurrences calmly and logically to maintain continuity of business and duties
* Follows all appropriate safety and security guidelines, procedures and protocol for residents in the Special Care Unit
* Participates in relevant educational and training activities as appropriate
* Performs all other duties as assigned or directed
