psi is looking for a RN-School Clinic to support a Charter Elementary School in Toledo. Currently this position is 20 hours a week. Monday through Friday 9:30 am to 1:30 pm.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and monitor student health needs and provide appropriate nursing interventions and services to students by performing professional nursing duties as defined in the psi Health Resource Guide and the State Department of Health and in accordance with acceptable nursing practice guidelines
  • Provide direct service to the student and ensure that school health records are properly maintained
  • Warmly interact with these children, always serving them with patience and kindness
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor student behavior and reaction to the administration of medication
  • Provide first aid as required and nursing interventions for acute and chronic medical complaints
  • Complete required documentation of health services needed and provided
  • Administer screenings
  • Ensure immunization records are up to date for each student
  • May also serve as the direct supervisor of the psi Health Services Employees

Qualifications

  • Valid Ohio RN license required
  • Must be knowledgeable about OSHA guidelines, communicable disease prevention, medication protocol, medical records management, and crisis intervention procedures
  • School-based or pediatric experience preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management skills
  • Must have a current CPR certification and pass a comprehensive background check.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with students, parents, and other staff members.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA laws and ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and use sound judgment in all aspects of the job
