Special education teacher now hiring near Portsmouth, Virginia

Sunbelt staffing currently has an opening for a school special education teacher for a full time role near Portsmouth, Virginia. The teacher will be working in a self contained classroom with students that may have emotional disabilities. There is para support in the classroom as well.

Requirements:

• Mastersdegree or higher in Special Education
• Teaching license for the state of Virginia
• Experience working with students with disabilities
• Knowledge of special education laws and regulations

Responsibilities:

• Instruct students both individually and in group settings
• Plan curriculum, special ed programs and teaching methods.
• Evaluate and monitor student progress in and outside of the classroom
• Evaluate student progress based on output and work output
• Determine and implement set goals, objectives and directives
