Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse (RN) Quality Coordinator (QC) leads interdisciplinary process improvement activities in the assigned clinical service line supporting high quality patient-centered care. The QC collaborates with the service line, physician and ancillary department leadership and care teams to monitor care processes and develop, implement, and evaluate changes that deliver measurable improvement in quality, safety and care experience elements of workflow and care processes. The QC is responsible to utilize knowledge and skills to recommend priorities based on objective data and feedback from leadership and care team members under the direction of the service line director. The QC will also engage in facility, division, or corporate wide activities and teams, and interacts with multi-disciplinary partners in the pursuit if improvements to care and workflow. The QC performs activities in conjunction with the organizational quality improvement team and aligns activities with the VP of Quality Improvement.

What you will do in this role:

  • Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team in all aspects of care improvement processes.
  • Operationalizes evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes.
  • Supports the achievement of internal/external benchmarks, accreditations, and designations.
  • Facilitates the implementation of quality improvement action plans in assigned clinical division in response to best practice guidelines, event investigation, and regulatory priorities.
  • Ensures compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinates performance improvement activities at the clinical division level which are aligned with facility, division, and/or corporate initiatives.
  • Facilities divisional process improvement activities.
  • Collects and analyzes data related to performance and communicates outcomes to collaboratively develop action plans to improve outcomes.
  • Reflects core values when interacting with co-workers, patients, family members, and others in the community to foster an environment where employees are engaged and where patient care is unparalleled.
  • Ensures compliance with evidence-based practices that enhance patient experience and customer service.
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts and other leaders to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
  • Supports a patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when necessary.
  • Leads in a way that inspires commitment to the vision, mission, and values of the organization.
  • Supports the efforts of the facility to improvement engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
  • Functions as a resource person for staff members. Provides coaching, feedback, and training to improve performance and engagement.
  • Supports interdisciplinary partnerships.
  • Represents the organization positively within the community; participates in company-supported community/patient events and in-services.
  • Supports proper inventory control and assists with managing supplies and equipment.
  • Seeks to find solutions that add value to care, and support plans that eliminate non-value added waste in care processes and workflows.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is Required
  • Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state which you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license
  • Previous Acute Care Hospital experience is required
  • At least three years of experience of hospital quality experience is preferred
  • CPHQ or CPPS Certification is preferred
