Job Details

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safeguard and ensure accuracy and maintenance of the general ledger, subsidiary ledgers (accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets), and supporting information for all entities.

Manage bank balances and cash flow projections; plan and control cash disbursements with daily monitoring of bank and credit card balances.

Direct month end closing process including preparation of financial statements in NetSuite, which feed internal and external reporting packages.

Analyze and interpret operating results as to the financial effects on the organization by investigating, analyzing and explaining performance variances, and making specific actionable recommendations to improve results.

Review significant balance sheet accounts on a regular basis with formal report to CFO at least quarterly.

Oversee accounts payable function, ensuring timely payment of vendor invoices (capitalizing on early-payment discount opportunities when possible), and maintaining accurate records and control reports.

Direct AP staff on handling of vendor issues as needed.

Oversee accounts receivable function. Establish/ enforce collection processes that yield the shortest practicable revenue to cash conversion cycle.

Periodic review with CFO of AR metrics, trends, and past due collections performance.

Direct AR staff on handling deposit posting and collection issues as needed.

Work In Process calculations and recordation.

Work in concurrence with and assist the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis in the annual budget planning process.

Coordinate year end audit of company’s financial statements, managing all communications with outside auditors.

Acquisition support and integration – thoroughly understand and implement accurate purchase accounting and establish opening balance sheets (including working with outside experts on intangibles valuations),

Utilizing outside tax experts, responsible for all tax matters including timely preparation and filing of tax forms, compliance with applicable tax laws, and planning with the assistance of outside professionals.

Lead and coach financial staff, including extended team members in the field, via daily contact and regular 1:1 meetings to discuss and monitor job performance, corrective actions when necessary, and tracking toward goal achievement. Impart and maintain a “sense of urgency” to drive timely attainment of specific objectives.

Uphold and improve (as needed) established accounting controls and formal policies and procedures aligned with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), tax requirements, and corporate policies.

Regularly assess improvement opportunities within and adjacent or related to the company’s financial functions and advise appropriately.

Accounting record retention in accordance with legal requirements and company needs and practices.

Assist the CFO with special projects and perform other tasks assigned by the CFO, and perform other duties not specifically listed herein, but which are logically those of the Controller or are inherent or related to the duties and responsibilities identified.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; CPA preferred, MBA helpful

Demonstrated success leading a full-charge accounting department with responsibilities similar to the functions of this position

10+ years’ experience in a fast-paced high-growth multi-site service environment

Collision repair or related industry experience strongly preferred; private-equity portfolio company experience helpful

Strong leadership skills required

Extensive knowledge of computer software programs such as CCC One, NetSuite, QuickBooks, Concur, Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel skills required); additionally, exposure to Tableau and Snowflake would be a plus.
