Job Summary

Provides direct assistance to staff and faculty in the classroom and meeting rooms, sets up and maintains educational technology infrastructure, supports technology projects, and makes sure the classroom or meeting room technology is functional for large venue events. Interacts on a consistent basis with: unit AV equipment users, unit technical staff, contractors and vendors. Investigates and resolves audio-visual problems in classrooms or conference rooms, to include wiring and signal distribution problems dealing with switching and/or routing and video resolution and/or scaling. Sets up and operates live events in large arenas, including live music venues, public speaking events, conference rooms, athletics facilities and teleconferencing.

Responsibilities
  • Process and complete work orders in-person and via approved remote support tools assigned to Classroom and/or Audio Visual Support to diagnose and resolve software and hardware incidents across a range of software applications, computers and peripherals.
  • Install, operate, and troubleshoot audio/visual equipment such as portable PA systems, mikes, cameras and projectors.
  • Provides professional audio/visual guidance, advisement and technical/logistical support for all events, meetings, and seminars held throughout the University.
  • Manages all Video Conferencing for site-to-site meetings
  • Manages all Live Event Streaming across the University and assures the highest quality of content.
  • Assist with general maintenance of various audio/visual systems in the school such as changing projector lamps.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain printers and other peripheral devices.
  • Installation and support of classroom technology.
  • Maintain inventory of AV equipment and classroom technology
  • Provides information technology support to students, faculty and staff in person and by telephone; resolves hardware and software issues.
  • To maintain a first-class level of customer service ensuring that all customers are treated efficiently and in an appropriate manner.
  • To take ownership of issues by carrying out problem analysis to implement temporary or permanent fixes with the aim of restoring service to the customer as soon as possible; escalating incidents to other support teams where necessary.
  • Accurately record, update and document requests using the work order tracking system.
  • Routinely follow up with customers to identify areas of improvement.
  • Maintain safe and secure technology practices
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent1 year experience providing technical support for audio visual presentation technology.1 year experience providing technical support for classroom technologies.Achieve Crestron Core Track certification within 12 months of employment in position.Achieve CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) certification within 6 months of hire.

Ability to work flexible hours including nights and/or weekends is required.

Preferred Qualifications Associate degree in related field and 3 years’ experience in classroom support OR High School diploma (or equivalent) and 5 years’ experience in desktop supportCrestron Technician / Field Engineer Track certificationA+, HDI, certification
