Responsibilities

Responsible for the start-up, management, and administration of all phases of a women’s lacrosse program in a manner that upholds the philosophy, mission, and objectives of the Department of Athletics. Develop, coordinate, and direct all phases of the women’s lacrosse program as it pertains to personnel (including hiring and supervision of assistant coaches, staff, and undergraduate/graduate managers) and their responsibilities; budgeting, scheduling, travel, meals, scholarship allocation, recruiting, scouting, purchasing and care of equipment, coaching, providing appropriate direction to student-athletes as it relates to academics, while adhering to all NCAA, ACC, Athletics Department, and University rules and regulations. Establish policies and guidelines for all women’s lacrosse personnel and student-athletes, design academic guidelines for student-athletes within the framework of NCAA, ACC, Athletics Department, and University rules and regulations. Provide team rules in writing to student-athletes, staff, and administration.

Determine the scope and purpose of the women’s lacrosse program. Hire competent assistants and support staff and assign responsibilities. Establish recruiting policies and direct all personnel involvement. Establish academic, athletic and community services policies for student-athletes. Demonstrate and maintain current skills and techniques in coaching, recruiting, training and general management of a division I-A intercollegiate sport program while adhering to NCAA, ACC, Athletics Department and University rules and regulations.

Internal contact for this position includes frequent and collaborative interaction with public/media relations, marketing, Seminole Boosters, game operations, academics, sports medicine, equipment, strength and conditioning, student services, compliance, and other staffs within the Department of Athletics. Public contact for this position includes public speaking and appearances to various booster groups, alumni, university and community members, media, and recruits and their families. Maintain and fundraise for women’s lacrosse restricted account funds. Promote women’s lacrosse through community events and public relations activities. Work closely with the Athletic Administration in conveying policy and its interpretation.

Develop budget and maintain accurate records of expenditures. Oversee the selection, purchase, fitting and maintenance of team equipment, uniforms, athletic equipment, and supplies.

Qualifications

Master's degree and one year of coaching experience at the high school level or above or a Bachelor's degree and three years' experience at the high school level or above.

Experience coaching lacrosse.

Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.

Knowledge of coaching methods.
