Job Description

The Quality Engineer is responsible for the identification, analysis and documentation of Quality issues, working with various groups in the organization to find solutions and improvements to product and processes, as it relates to Quality.


Essential Functions

  • Improve product quality through recommendations for change, working with relevant Departments and Teams (i.e. Quality Improvement Team).
  • Implement and maintain an inspection system, ensuring conformity and accuracy in the production process and adherence to quality standards.
  • Assist inspectors on techniques and tools as necessary to assure accuracy of measurements being performed.
  • Identify process/product issues and potential solutions for improvement.
  • Document inspection results and findings, performing Root Cause Analysis with Corrective/Preventive Action based on 8d Methodology when required.
  • Generate Return Material Authorizations (RMA’s) as needed.
  • Update QA Sheets ensuring adherence to Customer specifications.
  • Prepare Capability Studies, PPAPs, and FAI’s, through collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data, and making recommendations based on findings.
  • Interact with Customers and Suppliers as needed to address and resolve quality issues.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies; maintaining American Society of Quality Control certified Quality Engineer qualification.
  • Perform Internal Audits as per AS9100 and ISO 13485 as required.
