Maintenance Assistant

Job Description/Role

Here at Rome Grinding Solutions, our Maintenance Assistant assist the day to day workflows of the Maintenance Coordinator. This position works directly with the supervisor to manage incoming/outcoming materials, installations, repairs, and upkeep of new and current equipment. Your duties will include handling and moving materials, completing work orders, cleaning machines and meeting daily objectives to keep operations running at full capacity. Rome Grinding Solutions is looking for a diligent, hard working employee with a team first mindset who is proactive and “we” focused.

Responsibilities

• Materials Handling

• Assist with the hauling of materials to/from external sources

• Operate process equipment as directed (Bandsaw, Power Tools, etc.)

• Assisting all maintenance processes and operations

• Maintaining all machinery to ensure it's at working standards

• Work with maintenance procedures

• Conduct regular inspections of the facilities

• Perform housekeeping of designated areas

• Documenting and preparing daily progress reports and maintenance logs

• Assist Coordinator with vendor communications

• Other duties as assigned
  
  

Skills/Qualifications

• Competence in multiple fields such as but not limited to plumbing, machining, welding, HVAC, and grounds maintenance

• Strong knowledge and experience with large and small manufacturing equipment

• Excellent organizational and leadership abilities

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

• Process/Results Oriented

• Driver’s License and clean driving record Required

• Forklift Operators License (in-house)

Physical

• Standing, stooping, stair climbing and bending to inspect products and equipment within the production facility and to inspect quality details
• Ability to lift 80lbs
• Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time

Other:

• Able to perform the necessary mathematical computations as required
• Able to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of Employment and Management
