Job Summary
Keep Inventory and order supplies for the plant as assigned by the Maintenance Manager and verifies quantity of materials received from vendors, writes receivers and submits to corporate office for payment. Interviews vendors for items of materials to include price, delivery and terms.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Job:
· Monitors inventory in supply shop and orders needed items. Verifies supplies received to meet specific requirements of manufacturing to meet throughput, inventory and operating expense objectives.
· Prepares receivers upon receipt of materials ensuring proper quantity and quality and processes to corporate office for payment. Maintains copy in files on-site.
· Assists maintenance supervisor in filing completed work orders and tracking parts.
· Constant contact with vendors to ensure materials are shipped when stated and communicates with department head of any changes that could affect manufacturing.
· Assist the maintenance department with the preventative maintenance program.
· Accepts assignments and other responsibilities as required to support team objectives.
· Required to adhere to applicable QS9000/TS16949 requirements.
· Required to adhere to applicable ISO 14001 requirements.
· Required to adhere to all Environmental Health and Safety Regulations.
· Will be required to work necessary overtime and possibly a 2nd or 3rd shift.
· May be required to stand long periods of time.
· Must be able to read and comprehend work instructions.
Skills preferred to perform the job:
1. One to three years experience in automotive/industrial manufacturing with a particular strength in maintenance administration.
2. Strong personal leadership, vision, organizational and communication abilities, technical and mechanical background desirable.
3. Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
4. Computer skills – MS Word, Excel.
5. Ability to interact with all levels of employees, management and vendors.
Educational Requirements:
1. High school graduate.
2. Additional college-level courses in Engineering and Management subjects desirable or a combination of both education and experience.
