As the Associate Manager of Indirect Procurement, your scope within the team includes building materials and smallwares. You will support procurement strategies within these categories that reduce cost, improve product & service quality, and elevate supplier performance while meeting business and operational requirements. That iconic red-haired girl? Those bold colors? It is your job to partner with Wendy’s design and engineering team members to understand specifications and bring it all to life through both internal and external signage. Your leadership of the smallwares category will give you the opportunity to grow your procurement acumen and learn how product rollouts happen in the real world; think of items like spatulas…Wendy’s can’t serve burgers without them!

This is a highly collaborative and cross-functional role. In addition to Wendy’s partners, you will work face to face with supplier partners to secure & assure supply, as well as manage relationships and negotiate contracts. Internally, you will work shoulder to shoulder with QSCC’s distribution, logistics, and project management teams on a daily basis to react to challenges and work strategically to assure supply of products within your scope.

High standards of customer service and an appreciation for effective communication are a must! Our ideal candidate will have the ability to diagnose and understand restaurant operator challenges, a willingness to seek solutions, and then follow-up to ensure resolution. As you build relationships with franchisees, you know you did a great job because you helped them build or run their restaurant today!

  • Manage the restaurant smallwares (kitchen utensils, equipment accessories, kitchen storage) sourcing process by leveraging the purchasing power of the entire Wendy’s system to deliver value while ensuring continuous product supply. Partner with QSCC’s Project Management team to roll-out new items.
  • Identify internal business needs to produce and support Requests for Information or Requests for Pricing (RFI/RFPs) in order to mitigate risk of supply disruption, achieve better pricing, or ensure quality. In partnership with QSCC’s Contract Administration team, develop and maintain scopes of work (SOWs), service level agreements (SLAs) and  other supplier agreements with external partners.
  • Collaborate to identify opportunities for enhancement or improvements in assigned categories. Contribute to a cross-functional working environment to engage suppliers, key internal stakeholders, and other strategic development partners to drive continuous innovation.
  • Develop, track, and conduct analysis on key performance metrics (KPIs) for verification and reporting. Monitor and manage inventory levels and supplier performance relative to business needs and market conditions for assigned categories.
