Facility Maintenance Handyman / Technician

Budd Van Lines is looking for a skilled, dependable, and dedicated Facility Maintenance Handyman / Technician to provide maintenance and repairs for our NJ Corporate facility to ensure safe daily operations and pleasant working conditions.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform Preventive and Corrective Maintenance service for the equipment and building systems such as: HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical.
• Perform General Maintenance tasks such as: carpentry, painting, basic plumbing, and electrical work, floor cleaning, office remodeling, fixing office furniture, groundskeeping (debris pick up, snow removal), hanging pictures and shelves, repairing doors and locks.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
• Maintain all cleaning and shipping equipment in proper and safe working order.
• Perform routine maintenance and setup of the offices and workstations.
• Respond promptly and professionally to employees and management service requests.
• Install new appliances, fixtures, and equipment as needed.

• Ensure building and Fire Safety. Perform daily inspections and always adhere to safety guidelines and regulations.
• Respond promptly to Emergency Maintenance Requests. Availability for on-call duties.

• Assist in general cleaning of work areas (dusting, carpet, floors, windows, walls, trash removal).
• Deliver all incoming USPS/UPS/FEDEX packages and assist with any outgoing shipping.
• Assist with mail room services: post, distribute and pick up/drop off mail at the post office.
• Assist in field tech projects and customer product assembly.
• Other tasks and projects assigned or requested by Management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in facilities maintenance as a general handyman/maintenance technician.
• Strong knowledge and skills in basic carpentry, dry wall & painting, basic plumbing, electrical & mechanical systems.
• Ability to operate a variety of tools and power equipment.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Must be detail -oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and people skills.
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
