Position Overview:
We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Mental Health Paraprofessional to work alongside our licensed mental health professionals in providing vital support to our clients. The Mental Health Paraprofessional will assist with various therapeutic activities, psychoeducation, and daily tasks aimed at promoting the well-being and recovery of our clients. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about mental health and eager to contribute to a collaborative and dynamic team.
Responsibilities:
1. Client Support: Provide emotional support and assist clients in developing coping skills and self-care strategies.
2. Therapeutic Activities: Assist in facilitating group therapy sessions, workshops, and individual counseling sessions under the supervision of licensed professionals.
3. Documentation: Maintain accurate and confidential client records, progress notes, and treatment plans in compliance with regulations.
4. Psychoeducation: Educate clients on mental health topics, treatment options, and available resources.
5. Crisis Intervention: Collaborate with the team to address and de-escalate crisis situations when necessary.
6. Collaboration: Work closely with licensed professionals, psychiatrists, and other team members to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
7. Community Outreach: Participate in community events and outreach programs to promote mental health awareness and our services.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Previous experience in a mental health setting or related field is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Empathetic and nonjudgmental attitude.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to various client needs.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations regarding mental health and client confidentiality.
