Job Description
ITC Manufacturing is currently looking for a dynamic, motivated college student for our 2024 Summer Internship program which is scheduled to begin on May 22, 2024.
Position: Internship – Quality Assurance Specialist $20/hr
Location: Columbus Plant – Columbus, OH
SUMMARY
Our internship program provides experience enabling future professionals the ability to apply what they are currently learning in school, to applicable situations in a career they are pursuing. Our internship program helps interns gain additional knowledge and skills that can be applied to future positions in the professional field.
Supports production areas with quality issues and questions. Participates in external audits and leads supplier and internal plant audits. Maintains documentation on audit findings and is responsible for following up on corrective action plans and areas of non-conformance. Oversees the process for raw material and finished product specification updates and approvals.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Position requires most of the time to be spent on the production floor - 80%/20% floor/office time balance.
- Perform first article inspections at the setup of every new job.
- Perform routine quality checks on current jobs.
- Review production paperwork for accuracy and completeness.
- Document, investigate, and follow-up on corrective and preventive actions as required in order to close out any non-conformance issues.
- Implement and conduct associate training on quality documents, processes, or standards.
- Daily tracking of scrap.
- Daily water titration tests performed.
- Daily paint adhesion/thickness tests performed.
- Sorting in process or finished goods inventories as required.
- Dispositioning suspect/non-conforming product with non-conformance tags attached.
- Data entry as needed.
- Perform quarterly calibration of measuring equipment used throughout production.
- Support any other requested production or quality activity as needed.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Quality inspection, auditing and testing experience
- Product or industry-specific experience
- Analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills
- Data collection and analysis
- Knowledge of tools, concepts, and methodologies of QA
- Competent in blueprint / drawing reading
- Experience using micrometer, calipers, tape measure, torque wrench.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Strong math skills
- Attention to detail with excellent communication skills - verbal and written.
- Customer focused.
