ECHO/VASCULAR TECHNOLOGIST CPT

The Echo/Vascular Technologist performs specific vascular procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical details. Additionally, the Echo/ Vascular Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to apply the prescribed diagnostic imaging equipment for production of high quality images. Additionally, maintains quality control, participates in quality assurance programs for cardiovascular and radiology, and takes responsibility for work area. This position is also responsible for clinical instruction of radiography students completing rotations in the Radiology Department.

Essential Functions

• Moves throughout the facility, appropriately assists in emergency drills and performs the physical requirements needed to deliver services as assigned.
• Performs vascular exams under the direction of a physician and provides quality images.
• Works cooperatively with unit staff, physicians, and ancillary departments.
• Performs all tasks and duties of this position according to hospital and department policy and procedure.

• Delivers service that builds customer satisfaction.
• Actively supports and encourages Primary Support Person (PSP) / Family involvement in patient's care, with consent of patient. Includes PSP / family member in explanations/discussions of testing, procedures and discharge instructions when applicable.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma/GED- Required.
• Completion of an Accredited Radiological Technology Program- Required.
• Vascular Technology Certification- Preferred.
• 1-3 Years Experience with Cardiovascular in a Healthcare/Medical Setting- Preferred.
• BLS Certification- Required (May obtain during orientation period).
