POSITION SUMMARY
The Volunteer Manager/Community Programs Assistant is responsible for all aspects of volunteer management. The Volunteer Manage/Community Programs Assistant reports to the Executive Director

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Management of approximately 550 volunteers per year.
Process new volunteers including interviewing, placement and training
Maintain volunteer database
Develop and maintain relationships with all volunteers.
Create monthly schedules and assign volunteers.
Work with the Directors to stay updated on programming and volunteer needs.
Provide reporting on volunteer statistics
Provide assistance alongside the Community Programs Manager as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
Associate degree or higher preferred
Professional and respectful demeanor
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Capacity to juggle competing tasks and responsibilities
Belief in the Centers mission, values and guiding principles
Sensitivity to cultural and economic diversity
Strong organizational skills, very detail-oriented
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), database management required

The Volunteer Manager/Community Programs Assistant will interact with staff, clients, donors, board members, volunteers and the general public. It is essential that this person be highly professional and have an outgoing demeanor. The duties and responsibilities listed above are not all-inclusive and can be added to by leadership at any time. As a small staff, individuals may be required to assist with duties outside of their department. A strong sense of humor is helpful.

Job Type: Full Time, All Year.
