Job Description

Position title: Shift Manager

Reporting to: Manufacturing Director

Job Purpose: To ensure the smooth running of the plant. Leading by example, you will facilitate and coordinate continuous improvement activities within MIRS while focusing on Safety, Quality & Production.


Main Responsibilities:

Role activities include, but are not limited to:

HSE:

  1. Set expectation of safe working practices for all team members in order to maintain a safe work environment and uphold OSHA / ISO regulations.
  2. General awareness of Pirelli Environmental Management System and Environmental Policy and how their role impacts the environment.
  3. Champion Health and Safety initiatives (HSE observation forms) & lead HSE monthly trainings for shift personnel.

Production:

  1. Manage personnel effectively according to shift needs in order to achieve production and quality targets.
  2. Validate personnel competence and collaborate on employee training needs with Factory Training Coordinator & Manufacturing Director.
  3. Record and report all noteworthy events throughout the shift, involving key stakeholders when appropriate.
  4. Certify that shift personnel have the required tools available to them and are using them as intended (Equipment, CMMS, etc.).
  5. Promote professionalism and proper work ethic in all employees. Take action to correct behaviors that do not align with Pirelli Code of Conduct Policy.
  6. Monitor and maintain the flow of production, quickly leading efforts to restore machinery and reduce downtime when feasible.
