Job Description

Title: Truss Assembler

Reports To: Department Supervisor Department: Production

Position Description: Provides correct placement of lumber into the jig. Assures that joints are correctly plated on both sides. Reads the shop documentation to assure correct part and plate placement. Shift work is part of this job. Assists in set up. Properly sets ejection mechanism as directed by foreman. Stocks in webs and plates for trusses. Keeps work area clean.

Qualifications: Entry level position. Ability to read a tape measure. Performance of repetitive tasks is common. All assemblers are required to provide their own 220z hammer and tape measure. Position requires the ability to lift moderately heavy loads frequently. Can work in a fast-paced environment.

OBJECTIVE

* Review build instruction prior to the start of any build run to gain a broader vision of the job.

* Develop the habit of check joints for accurate plate placement on both sides.

* Participate in training when provided.

* Strive to work in a clean/safe environment.

* Learn the significance of camber, wane, grade sequence.

* Identify any members with missed stamping or needing tag placement.

* Work closely with the line foreman and strive to emulate those skills.

* Listen to terminology and ask questions when they arise.
