We have 5 locations in the US, as well as operations in Europe and China. Our location in Constantine Michigan focuses primarily on medical devices. We have an immediate opening for a Plant Controller manager. We are looking for someone well versed in budgeting / forecasting and capable to assist in process improvement activities both within the finance area and supporting improvement activities in production and other areas.

Summary Description:

Work closely on a day to day basis with the Plant Manager and monthly with the regionally based corporate finance team.

  • Work with the Plant Manager and site management team to develop and achieve long term financial objectives; support business decisions requiring a financial/business assessment.
  • Establish accurate standard costs and inventory valuation for Manufacturing.
  • Recommends benchmarks against which to measure the performance of Company operations.
  • Calculates and issues financial and operating metrics
  • Provide financial leadership for sales proposals.
  • Ensure the completion of month-end close activities including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and reporting. Maintains fixed asset and depreciation data
  • Coordinate and prepare monthly forecasting. Preparation of month end performance metrics.
  • Prepare analyses for actual vs budget/forecast results monthly, including direct labor & material, labor reconciliation and utilization and OH monitoring. Communicate with division leadership to identify trends/corrective actions.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of the physical inventory including analysis and reporting of results.
  • Year-end preparation work.
  • Manage the accounting staff to ensure success of all individuals in the department as well as achieving departmental goals and objectives
  • Perform ad hoc projects and analyses as needed.

Requirements:

  • Manufacturing environment, cost accounting, general ledger reporting experience required.
  • Candidates should have 8+ years’ of progressively responsible experience
  • Accounting or Finance degree required
  • Ability to communicate to groups of people and with individuals at all levels within the organization.
  • Work as a team member with local team
  • Ability and desire to train and coach others to improve performance
  • Strong analytical/critical thinking
  • Work independent. Work with limited instruction.
