What is Job Corps?
Job Corps is the country's most extensive nationwide, residential career training program, and has been operating for over 60 years. The program helps eligible young people ages 16 through 24, complete their high school education, trains them for meaningful careers, and assists them with obtaining employment. Job Corps has trained and educated over two million individuals since 1964.


Oneonta Job Corps offers training in the Medical Trade: Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, and Medical Administrative Assistant. Automobile Trade: Auto Body Collision and Repair, Auto Mechanics, Auto Technician. Construction Trades: Tile Setting, Cement Mason, and Electrical. Advanced Trades: Overhead Line Electrical, Rural Underground Distribution, SMART Meter, and Drone Piloting.


Position Available: Independent Living Advisor - Split Shift

This is a full-time Split Shift position and you will work Monday through Tuesday 11:30pm-8:30am, and Saturday through Sunday 11:30am-12:00pm


We are seeking someone who will:

  • Maintain shift logs.
  • Communicate all shift-specific information to the appropriate people.
  • Monitor student activity in the dorms.
  • Provide counseling and guidance to the students.
  • Ensure students are conducting themselves with appropriate work/life behaviors.
  • Ensure accurate accountability of the students assigned to the dorm.
  • Provide students with training in independent living and leadership skills.


We need someone who has:

  • Excellent Time Management, and Documentation Skills


Educational Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Residential experience in a group home/college dormitory setting is preferred. Compensation is based on experience.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
