FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY
Serves beverages and food in a courteous and expedient manner. Responsible for the setup, maintenance and operation of the bar in accordance with the standards of the Bowery Group NYC.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Interacts with all customers in a professional, friendly, and hospitable manner.
Knowledgeable of inventory on hand, drink mechanics, and drink pricing.
Mixes and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for customers of the bar and dining room adhering to house recipes.
Responsible for bar set up. Maintains daily par levels for all beverages and service items..
Accurately accounts for all sales, discounts and promotions in P.O.S. system according to company cash handling procedures.
Responsible for cleanliness of the bar area and glassware.
Understands the entire food menu including ingredients, substitution options and allergens.
Receive and serve food orders to guests.
Complies with state alcohol servers’ requirements.
Demonstrate positive, interpersonal skills with guests and co-workers.
Function as a supportive team member during the course of their shift.
Position requires regular, reliable attendance.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school graduate or equivalent. Desire 2-3 years’ experience in high-volume full-service bar. Must have basic knowledge of beer wine, and spirits, and be familiar with standard drink recipes. Must be 21 years old.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondences. Ability to effectively communicate and understand the predominant language of your guests.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must have the ability to handle money and reconcile receipts.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to problem solve.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess required health and liquor service certifications per state law.
