JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: Hospitality Technician JOB CODE: # 205-208

DEPARTMENT: Hotel/Food & Beverage

REPORTS TO: Hotel Manager/Director of Hospitality Service

POSITION SUMMARY:

Perform routine maintenance and general engineering per shift assigned.

TASKS:

  1. Perform general maintenance and repairs including but not limited to:
  • Ensure lighting specs are followed and bulbs are replaced as necessary in the Hotel guest rooms, hallways and F&B dining rooms.
  • General tasks such as changing doors, changing locks, assembling furniture, easing and adjusting windows, caulking, replacing handles, replacing smoke detectors, hanging pictures and signage, hanging curtain rods and similar hardware.
  • Program locks and do lock interrogations in conjunction with front desk team.
  • Repair minor issues with electrical gadgets, furniture and plumbing issues.
  • Perform preventive maintenance.
  1. Operate and understand basic television system, plumbing and electrical system throughout the Hotel.
  2. Maintain radio and phone communication contact with crewmembers during assigned shift.
  3. Work with housekeeping and food and beverage, performing jobs as and when they are required.
  4. Ensure all equipment and work areas are kept clean, neat and orderly at all times.
  5. Work with housekeeping and stewarding managers to maintain equipment inventory.
  6. Maintain a constant awareness of safety and accident prevention.
  7. Immediately report problems/failures that may impact the company and/or guest to direct report.
  8. Perform assigned duties during emergencies.
  9. Must be able to transcribe written and/or verbal instructions.
  10. Perform basic guest services such as giving directions, answering questions, etc.
  11. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

High school graduate or equivalent. Skills in general DIY and maintenance including assessment, installation, repair and maintenance. Effective listening abilities with strong judgment skills, and communication skills. Ability to communicate with 2-way radio. Forklift and equipment experience helpful. High degree of ambulatory mobility to enable person to respond to any type of emergency situation or service call.
