Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION: Assist floor foreman in the daily implementation of the production schedule. Maintain proper housekeeping, check pellet quality and change screens.

EQUIPMENT: Screen changer device, PPE, screens, forklift, cleaning tools

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Except as specifically noted, the following functions are considered essential to this position.

  • Change screen on production lines per product profile. Scrape, and/or properly clean screens.
  • Assist in monitoring pellet quality to verify conformance to established standards. Notify production foreman for irregularities or deficiencies.
  • Maintain downstream equipment ensuring orderly processing and overall cleanliness of the area.
  • Maintain effective communications by informing incoming floormen of processing status to ensure orderly shift changeover.
  • Check fines baskets and clean as needed. This procedure should be performed a minimum of four times per day or as frequently as one time per hour for all production lines.
  • Maintain communications with floor foreman for problem resolution and general processing inquiries. Assist production foreman as delegated.
  • Communicate demand requirements to Production Foreman.
  • Keep floors clean and dry and maintain floor drains by removing debris.
  • Perform all other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  1. Standing, Walking – Must be able to stand continuously in the production area to evaluate work in progress.
  2. Must be able to see, hear and talk to utilize equipment and to communicate with key personnel and to perform the essential functions of the job.
  3. Lifting – Must be able to lift up to 50lbs occasionally to move boxes or other products.
  4. Climbing – Frequently to inspect production lines and tanks.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud. PPE is provided and must be utilized.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. Minimum 1 year prior experience in an industrial or processing environment.
  3. Must be able to communicate professional and effectively with co-workers and supervisors.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS (To be completed within 30 days of hire):

  1. Orientation
  2. Tour of facility
  3. Safety training – Forklift, LOTO, and General Safety Rules
  4. ISO 9001 training

12 hour shifts starting at 8am or 8pm. Schedule works 3 days on/3 days off rotating from days to nights every month.
