Housekeeper - Stout's Island Lodge

Stout’s Island Lodge is a magical resort located in the middle of Red Cedar Lake near Rice Lake, Wisconsin. It boasts 43 rooms, along with gorgeous common areas, a restaurant and event spaces. 

Job description:

Our housekeepers take pride in the cleanliness of all parts of our resort from guest rooms to common areas, both inside buildings and outside buildings.  Excellent housekeepers possess an excellent attention to detail—catching even the smallest cobweb in the most unseen locations.  Housekeepers are responsible not only for cleanliness and order of the rooms and common areas, but also ensure that all amenities promised in each room are present and in working order. 

Skilled housekeepers are capable of changing sheets on beds, scrubbing, dusting, moping, sweeping, etc. as well as moving from room to room across a 16 acre island.  Typical shifts for this position are six to eight hours between 9 AM and 7 PM.

Housekeepers must also be very personable when interacting with guests and be able to anticipate their needs. 

Housekeeper Responsibilities:

• Keeping lodging rooms clean and maintained, including outside areas like decks and porches.
• Keeping common areas clean and maintained.
• Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors.
• Stripping and making beds.
• Cleaning and stocking restrooms.
• Cleaning and stocking of in-room kitchens and kitchenettes.
• Dusting, cobbing, washing windows.
• Reset rooms for check-in, ensuring all rooms are ready for the next guest including, but not limited to: making beds, replace towels, change lightbulbs, check stocking levels of all consumables and replace when appropriate such as toilet paper, shampoo/conditioner, soap, coffee, tea and water
• Notifying managers of necessary repairs.
• Collecting and disposing of trash.
• Assisting guests when necessary.

Housekeeper Requirements:

• Ability to manage your time efficiently.
• Work well unsupervised.
• High attention to detail
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
• Handle basic maintenance and cleaning.
• Ability to maintain a professional appearance and interact positively with hotel guests.
• Team player and a hard worker.
• Weekend availability.
