La Cross Dental, a growing Dental Practice Administration and Laboratory with more than thirteen office locations and three labs that provide general dentistry, pediatric, periodontic, and specialty and cosmetic dental services, is looking to add a Registered Dental Hygienist to one of our growing offices in the St. Clair Country, Illinois area. As a Dental Hygienist, you are responsible for working with patients to identify needs for treatment and areas for future monitoring, educating patients and caregivers on proper dental hygiene, infection prevention, and post-treatment instructions. You will work with dentists on treatment plans and accurately maintaining patient documentation and charts. As a Registered Dental Hygienist, you have experience with and are responsible for:

  • In-depth knowledge of health & safety regulations (HIPAA, OSHA)
  • Proficiently using dental practice management software (Eaglesoft, CareStack, Dentrix, or similar)
  • Taking digital radiographs, X-Rays, &/or impressions
  • Treating periodontal disease according to ADA guidelines and the standards of care, explaining information to patients and addressing concerns
  • Deep knowledge of the prevention skillsets - OCS, prophylaxis, fluoride treatments
  • Conducting initial oral screenings
  • Cleaning and protecting patient’s teeth, while keeping a relaxed and friendly chairside manner
  • Educating patients and caregivers about proper dental care, treatment options, and post-procedure care
  • Assisting Dentists with treatment plans for immediate issues and identify longer term areas to monitor
  • Maintaining patient documentation & charts, both hard copies and electronic records
  • Monitoring supplies and equipment, proactively requesting supplies or needs for equipment servicing

As a Registered Dental Hygienist, you bring to the table:

  • Valid Dental Hygienist License
  • Local Infiltration and Block Anesthesia Certification
  • CPR BLS - Healthcare Provider Level
  • Sirona (or similar digital radiograph software) experience
  • Experience assisting in different positions or on office-related projects
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Compassion, patience, and history of treating all patients with respect
