Good-2-Go Oregon is Central Oregon's premiere community-based support program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We specialize in high functioning adults who experience some form of Developmental Disability.


The Independent Living Services (ILS) department helps our clients learn valuable skills to live their own independent lives. These skills typically include both technical skills such as meal preparation, and soft skills such as socializing. This is an explicitly hands off program and does NOT involve cleaning, bathing, or feeding clients.



About the role:


The Life Skills Coach is a fun, hands-on position which is focused on relationship building and problem solving. Our Life Skills Coaches help clients achieve their goals by providing in-home services focused around the teaching of important life skills. Common examples include teaching a client how prepare meals, maintain their household, and access their community.


Generally speaking, our clients enjoy being active in the community and may need some support when outside their homes. Because of this "community engagement" goals tend to be a large part of the Life Skills Coach's role.


A typical day varies based on the client supported but generally includes:

  • Lending a friendly ear
  • Assisting the client with household tasks
  • Accompanying the client in the community (eg to go shopping)
  • Providing cognitive and emotional support when needed



About You:

Due to the nature of services, we are looking for a compassionate, passionate, and patient individual to help with services. Candidates must also show strong communication skills, be able to de-escalate situations, and exhibit strong professional boundaries. All training for this role is provided after hire, but personal or professional experience with disabled individuals is a plus.


Qualified applicants must:

  • Have excellent verbal communication skills,
  • Possess the ability for creative problem solving
  • Be solution oriented.
  • Be able to pass a criminal background check
  • Be able to obtain a First-Aid/CPR certification, and
  • Have reliable and insured personal vehicles to use during services (with travel/mileage reimbursement).

Compensation:

  • Starting rate of $18.00/hr
  • Paid Time off (includes part time staff)

Other Info:

  • All services take place during the day shift, on weekdays (Monday - Friday). This role does NOT have night or weekend shifts.
