Job Description
Personalized Therapy is currently seeking a Behavior Technician to fill a Full-time and Part-Time positions. The qualified candidate will fill the role of Elementary school support, ABA early intervention home support and home support for a young adult.
Summary:
ABA Technicians implement the day-to-day individualized 1:1 applied behavioral interventions to clients with disabilities under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. At Personalized Therapy, LLC, we provide ABA therapy at our clinic, in local schools, at clients' homes, and we also facilitate community outings.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Implementation of instructional programs based on the principles of ABA
- Implementation of a written behavior protocol
- Take accurate treatment data and maintain program data book and graphs
- Attendance at all required meetings
- Attendance at mandatory monthly workshops for each client on your caseload
- Act as a positive role model of acceptance, treatment, and interaction for families and community members
- Adhere to HIPPA guidelines and maintain strict confidentiality
- Maintain safety standards at all times
- Maintain appropriate demeanor and attire, per Personalized Therapy, LLC's dress code
- Accept supervisory feedback appropriately
- Stay current on ABA and Autism research and legislation
Requirements:Minimum Qualifications:
- GED or high school graduate
- Pursuing or graduated with a Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, early childhood development, special education or related field
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills
- Passion for working with children
- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and proof of auto insurance
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to lift and carry clients with adaptive equipment
- Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time
- Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time
- Must be willing and able to restrain/hold/transport and utilize quick body movements as indicated in the Behavior Intervention Plan in the course of working with children with challenging behavior
- Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collection
- Must be physically present at the assigned job location, which may include home, school, and community placements
- Must be able to receive detailed information through oral communication
- Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication through computer, electronic devices, and paper means
- Must have reliable transportation and be willing and able to travel between our 3 clinics
- Must have a valid Maryland Driver’s License & insurance in good standing
