Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is currently searching for a remarkable Bell Captain for the Hilton in Harrisburg, PA.

Position Description:

As a member of the Front Office Leadership Team, the Bell Captain is responsible for delivering excellent customer service at all times to our guests and cultivating a positive workplace culture for our team members. The primary focus of this position is to ensure that excellent service is providing at all times by the Valet/Bell/Driver team, that guests are greeted upon arrival and departure from the resort, that valet vehicles are handled and maintained professionally and according to established guidelines, that guest luggage is handled carefully and stored securely as needed, and to ensure that Transportation Services operate according to scheduled needs. The Valet/Bell/Driver team serve as the face of the hotel and the first contact that guests have with our staff, and it is the responsibility of the Bell Captain to ensure that this first contact is excellent.

What You Will Do:

  • Act as the face of the hotel, greeting every guest with a smile and providing excellent customer service.
  • Greet guests as they arrive and depart from the property.
  • Provide guests with information about the property and our amenities, as well as provide directions and recommendations for the local area.
  • Assist guests with their luggage and bring them to their room, pointing out amenities and room offerings in the process.
  • Ensure luggage carts are available at all main entrances and provide them to guests upon request.
  • Deliver mail, packages, amenities, new room keys, or other to guest rooms.
  • Assist guests with moving rooms.
  • Provide direction to the Valet/Bell/Driver Team, thus ensuring all Ambassadors are operating efficiently and assisting guests at all times.
  • Ensure guest luggage is handled carefully, labeled and tagged accurately, and stored safely if needed.
  • Ensure all valet vehicles are properly and professionally handled by the Valet team, and that all required documentation and records are completed.
  • Ensure that hotel shuttles are well maintained, and oversee the shuttle schedule to ensure all required runs are well executed.
  • Train all Bell/Valet/Driver Attendants and in accordance with the training program in place.
  • Keep the driveway, lobby, front patio, main entrances, and Bell Closet clean and presentable.
  • Assist with any tasks as requested by Management.
  • Participate in MOD coverage as required.

What You Bring:

  • At least one (1) year experience at a full-service hotel in rooms division is strongly preferred. Leadership experience in cruise, airline, or full-service F&B operation is also acceptable.
  • Knowledge of hotel property management systems, namely OnQ, is a preferred.
  • Availability across both 1st and 2nd shifts, including weekends, is required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and also be a self-starter.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Strong technological skills, including knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm/collected under pressure.
  • Desire to provide excellent service to each guest regardless of the situation.
